Laptop screen flashing random lines of color.

My laptop screen started cycling through random lines of color when I turned it on. If I pressed down on the screen it would go back to normal. I then discovered if I tilt the screen back a little more it goes back to normal. The computer has been dropped a couple of times. Does anyone know how to fix this or what needs to be replaced? Thanks!

It sounds a bit like the display cable through the hinge has been damaged.

What model is your laptop? You may be able to get just a new cable.
