laptop screen is white

Whn I turn on laptop I automaticly get white screen. works with external monitor

Hi, the cable between the motherboard and screen is the problem, you will need to check the connection at both ends. Or the wires for the cable are not cut at someplace along the cable.

How would I do that on a gateway laptop? I opened the back cover and I think it is just the battery.
