laptop screen not cracked from outside but displays like a cracked screen

i dont know what happened to my laptop screen but the display looks like its broken but i cant feel any outside cracks and nothing happened to the laptop i didnt drop it or anything now when i connect to external monitor display is good but on the laptop it is like its cracked what can i do about it and what does it mean ?
