I have a dell laptop running Windows 8.1; every so often, the screen just turns yellow (I think that it is just yellow because that's the color I chose in start menu personalization). The only thing that still shows are my widgets on the desktop, so I know that the system is still running. When I click the buttons on the widgets, they still work; for example, I click the button to open a new cmd window, and it opens, and click the restart button, and the system restarts (which is why I don't have to force shut it down by holding the power button.) but other than that, the screen is blank, and the start button doesn't do anything. After a restart, everything is back to normal. Here are the specs of my system:
Dell Inspiron 15 (3521, Late 2012)
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i3 3217U @ 1.80GHz
RAM: 6.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000
HDD: 931GB Seagate ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB (SATA)
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this error can be annoying at times (like when I'm right in the middle of something, and am not able to save it because the screen goes blank). I have tried cleaning my registry, but it still does this.
