Laptop shjuts down/will not boot when connected via hdmi

I have a gateway NV54 series. I can no longer connect via HDMI to TV or monitor. VGA to monitor works fine, HDMI to monitor does nothing. When I try to connect HDMI to laptop when it is on, the laptop instantly shuts down and will not boot. This happens whether or not the TV is turned off when I connect the HDMI cable. If both laptop and TV are off when i connect HDMI, the laptop will not boot. I've tried 2 different TV's (Both worked about 2 months ago) and get the same issue. I've also tried this with 6 different HDMI cables (all brand new, 2 of these were $40 high end HDMI cables). I've tried uninstalling/re-installing drivers....all with no resolution. Other laptop works fine in all situations. I've run out of ideas at this point.

There isn't anything you can do for it. This is an electrical problem that will require a replacement motherboard - or, at the very least, a new HDMI port soldered.
