I have a custom Sager gaming laptop with the following specs: i7-3630QM, GTX 680M, 32GB RAM. The laptop runs Witcher 3 smooth as pie when plugged into the AC adapter but when unplugged the game would run for 1 minute and shutdown the laptop completely. I have checked the power setting to make sure the laptop runs on full power when not plugged but it doesn't help. Any assistance on this would be great. Thanks in advance.

If the battery is not putting out as much power as it should be, which does happen with them over time, then this could cause your issue.

Should that be the case, the fix is to replace the battery.

The battery seems to work fine when not playing games and can play videos etc.. for 2-3 hours straight. Do you think it's still a battery issue?

Hmm, that is rather odd. Although, depending on the game you are playing, it can put a much larger strain on the battery.

Does this happen with actually all games? Or just specific ones?

Thanks for assisting me on this. Yes this happen on all games, exactly 1 minute before shutdown. It's not the overheating issue because once it's plugged in I can play game for hours w/o issue.

Another interesting thing is, if I turn on the game while it's plugged and then unplugged afterward the game will run thinking that it's plugged and will run normally...

OK now that has thrown me. Were it just the battery not putting out enough power, it should change the moment you pull the power cord.

I am at a loss. Anyone else have any ideas?
