Laptop shuts down when lid is opened

Hello everyone and thanks for helping me. A few days ago, after coming home, I tried to turn on my pc but it just wouldn't start by pressing the Power button. The weird thing is that it only turns on by opening the lid, but as soon as the screen lights up, it immediately shuts down. The computer works perfectly when the lid is closed and connected to an external monitor, such as a Tv.
(To make it work I slightly open the lid and once the tv has received the video signal, which takes about 1 second, I instantly close it, otherwise the laptop would shut down).
Any suggestions? I'm really looking forward to a solution...

All I could do is laugh at your misfortune, sorry. Not the faintest idea. You wanto volunteer more info? It just started all of a sudden? physical impact? liquid spill? new third party charger? lent it to little brother who is a known klutz? I assume this used for work perfectly?

It started when I came back home after 1-2 days. No one touched the computer, but I noticed I forgot to unplug the charger before leaving and outside was raining..perhaps a power surge caused a short circuit? Sry for any grammar mistakes
