Laptop speaker sound distorted and scratchy

I have a Dell Inspiron with windows 10. The speaker is suddenly playing a very distorted and scratch noise every time I use audio. It was working fine up until I used a very old CD, I don't know if that's causing problems.
I've tried troubleshooting and updating my drivers but it hasn't worked. The audio works fine with headphones too.
Please help

Did you have it turned up loud recently? Sounds like a blown speaker

No, I didn't turn it up loud but it does sound blown

If this is the case, you can consult the manufacturer’s user guide for your Dell laptop and try replacing the speakers yourself. Another option is to take the laptop in for repairs; this may be pricey if the laptop is no longer under warranty.
