Laptop Strength Needed to record

OK so my parents are buying me a laptop and i need to know if ill be able to simply record through my elgato and simple editing on sony vegas pro. Im not looking to get an upgrade cause i already bought it.

This is not a Windows laptop, rather it is a Chromebook. This means no Windows apps, like Vegas Pro. Use of Elgato devices are likely to not be supported either.

Chromebooks are widely used in academic environments and are very suitable for those uses. They are definitely not "gaming" systems.
