Laptop temps too high??

What is the average idle temperature of a mobile Core i7 chip? My new laptop cores all idle in the mid 50s even in a cooler area. CPU is Core i7 740QM @ 1.73 ghz

I actually have the same mobile processor as yours in my laptop, and I idle at about low to mid 40's, but I am using a fan plate. Your temperatures sound just fine to me.
