Hey, I try to keep it as simple as possible:
I have a laptop and an external monitor and I want to use my external monitor @ 120hz
Laptop: Asus Tuf Gaming FX505GM @ 144hz (https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-TUF-FX505GM-ES088T.369156.0.html)
Monitor: Asus VG236H @ 120hz
Laptop ports: HDMI
Monitor ports: DVI, HDMI
What i've tried:
I can set my monitor only to 60hz (75hz with some potato resolutions) from nvidia and monitor settings, so it's NOT only in-game.
Can this problem be solved with a HDMI->DVI adapter, if so, what kind of adapter it has to be? (Not familiar with the male/female-thing)
Thanks in advance!

What i've tried:
- Reinstall Graphics drivers
- Set external monitor as primary
- Use multiple HDMI 2.0 cables (and check they are connected)
- Boot my Computer multiple times
- Create custom resolutions
- Set vsync off, disable xbox game bar, override monitor specifications
- Quite alot of different things, my brain has melted
