Laptop turns off when ac adapter is unplugged

My Toshiba Satellite laptop will not turn on/stay turned on unless the ac adapter is plugged in but it's at 100% so whenever I unplug it, my laptop just turns off! I tried a lot of suggestions I read online/on this site but they won't work such as changing the battery saver setting, enabling the "power" service (it's already running but I can't stop it either), and I took out the battery and plugged the adapter in and the issue still stands so it's not the battery. I got the battery last year.

Here are some other troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Since the laptop will still shutdown while connected directly to the AC adapter I would suggest cleaning the inside of it first.
- Open the laptop and remove the dust off the fans and apply new thermal paste on the CPU and GPU.
- If cleaning the inside of the laptop will result to the same problem, do try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and observe if the same problem will persist or not.
- If all these will not work the problem lies inside the motherboard.
