Laptop, under $500, detachable keyboard

Looking for a laptop for my brother. I'm a PC guy, and the specs on laptops confuse me a bit. He likes the idea of having the detachable keyboard, but i'm not sure what is sacrificed to have that capability. He doesn't need much, he browses, youtubes, maybe some light gaming. I figure he doesn't need much, eh? A decent hard drive for music and videos, I guess what most people get.

I don't think he really wants to wait for a deal to come along so he says between $400-$500. he's coming from a computer that can't even upgrade from XP SP1 (We got it in like 2002 or something), so I think anything is going to be like magic for him.

I browsed this forum for a similar request, but couldn't find someone else with that detachable keyboard/tablet hybrid sort of thing on their minds.

Well, I would recommend ASUS Transformer Book T100. It's the best window 8 Hybrid laptop you going to find at that price point.

Are there any like this that have a better storage capacity, or is that something i'd have to sacrifice for the detaching capability?
