Laptop Using Integrated Graphics

So my Lenovo Y50 has a Nvidia Geforce GTX 860m graphics card but it doesn't seem to be using it. So I went to my Nvidia control panel and tried to change it, but it still looks like its still using the integrated graphics for the laptop display. Is this normal or is there some way to change it?

This is normal - games will use your GPU if you tell them to in 3d settings - I have an optimus laptop and it does this too.

Thank you but I was watching a youtube vid and when this guy opened CPU-Z and when to the graphics tab it was on his graphics card not his integrated graphics. And under the phsX settings its on integrated graphics not my GPU. Thats all normal?

You can set programs to run with the graphics processor - they normally default to the integrated - see this tutorial: http/support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht051526?tabName=Solutions

You have a laptop correct? if so most laptops only have integrated graphics... so watching a video of someone with a desktop with both a integrated and add in graphics really does not apply to you with a laptop.

His laptop uses NVIDIA Optimus with it' s dedicated graphics card - this is why it's happening; not because the laptop just has integrated graphics.
