Laptop with broken screen in Windows but no image on VGA

Hi, I had a broken laptop there for a while now and i meant to fix it (i wanted to use it on my external monitor). I installed fresh install of Windows 10 and it seems to be working (alt+f4 and enter shutdowns the computer) but there is no picture on monitor (sleep mode). When VGA cable is disconnected from laptop it says no VGA cable so i dont believe the cable is problematic. I have also tried lots of keyboard shortcuts (win+p, fn+f4) in hope that picture Will move onto monitor.
Please if anyone could help me

Hi,

What I can suggest is to disconnect the ribbon cable that connects the built in display to the motherboard and it should make the external monitor as the default display. You'll be able to see in BIOS as well using the external monitor.

Thanks for your answer but I forgot mention that i already fully removed internal display. By the way i just got it working by installing VGA drivers for this chipset in another computer and moved the disk back in and it works. I am just unable to get into BIOS now
