First thing first, my laptop is 3 years old and I understand that a battery replacement may be in order.
Today I tried to boot the laptop and it won't boot without the connecting the charger, windows says that my battery needs replacement and continuously beeps to show low battery. BUT when I boot into ubuntu, battery works just fine, no issue of fast battery drain or anything.

Somehow the battery is working perfectly fine (In ubuntu) but the booting and windows thinks there's no charge in the battery. So, I have to keep it plugged to boot and while using windows.

As it works normally in ubuntu; I think, there could be something I can do to make it work under Windows, and boot on it's own.

Is there a chance I can get this battery to work again?

Try calibrating it:
