laptop wont come on

my school gave me a laptop 4 months ago it was a Asus Eeebook the one with the built in battery.So during August i tried putting it on and it never went on the light on the right left went on but nothing on the screen.I tried holdin the power button for 1m but doesnt work still

Have you tried outputting to an external monitor via hdmi/vga/whatever outputs it has? COULD be a broken screen.
