Laptop wont let me download anything

I've tried downloading things pictures my word documents from my email even iTunes, pc cleaner plus, adobe flash player nothing is downloading it says 'failed' what could be wrong?

Is your hard drive full? I'll suggest going through the steps in this thread http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/8263-63-simple-free-guide-removing-malware to see if you get anywhere
