Solved! Laptop Won't Start Up After Overheating

I have a Dell Inspiron 15z 5523, but its battery is dead and has been dead for a few months now. I haven't gotten a new battery, but inside I just plug it in and use it on my lap. Recently, I ran a game for some time, but the laptop overheated and shut down. I unplugged it and left it alone for a few hours. After that I tried holding the power button for 30 seconds, and it seems to start up at first, with the screen turning on, but then the keyboard lights flicker and the laptop turns off after about 5 seconds. If I try to simply press the power button, the lights go through the startup sequence, but the screen doesn't turn on and the laptop turns back off after about 3 seconds. Does anyone know what I can do to get it working again?

Sounds like you may have fried something. It happens. I would have it looked at.
