I am looking for a laptop that can run a 30" monitor at the monitor's native resolution of 2560x1600. I don't need it fast for gaming. Just need realestate of 30" external screen size.

It doesn't depend on the laptop so much as it does on the graphics card. According to this link, anything past the 6800 on laptops can support 2560x1600 on an external display.

I wasn't able to find the ATI equivalent, but I think it has more to do with the drivers than anything else. My Mobility Radeon X300 drivers (although technically not supporting my card) shows an option to go past 2560x1600 resolution on an external monitor - I run it at 1920x1200 right now which is the max for my laptop's display.

So pretty much any recent laptop with a dedicated card should be able to support your monitor's resolution. I recommend dedicated just for...
