Latitude e5530 charger not recognized

Hey everyone,

I recently purchased this charger from Amazon:

However, when I connect the charger, this error message comes up:

"the power adapter attached to your notebook is not recognized. Please insert a 65 watt Dell approved power adapter"

The computer recognizes the charger as "plugged in, not charging" Is there anyway around this, or did I simply purchase the wrong charger?

It could be, as you mentioned, that you have the wrong adapter. There three below are listed as compatible on the Dell web site. If you look on Amazon for a replacement make sure to look for the Dell Part#.
