Solved! Latop to Projector signal issues

I have a standard iogear HDMI wireless receiver which allows you to send your laptop screen over to a display/projector wirelessly.

When connecting to a projector, it keeps repeating the handshake process and never actually showing the laptop screen. The receiver detects the wireless dongle and a signal being sent out but the projector just isn't showing it. The projector is however showing the "Finding wireless dongle" icon when the dongle from the laptop is not being powered. This works completely fine using a standard monitor with the same cables etc.

How can I fix this issue? I read somewhere that there could be a HDCP issue, which may need a HDCP/HDMI compliant switch to confirm the handshake signal but I don't know where to go from here. I have tried changing some options on the projector such as Baud rate and "Brilliant Colour" to off.

It has displayed the laptop screen a total of 2 times randomly but I cannot get it to repeat

Solution
Step one is to make sure that the laptop and projector work when connected with an HDMI cable. The laptop resolution has to match the native resolution of the projector. The order you boot the laptop and turn on the projector can affect how they "handshake".
If it works with a cable then reconnect the wireless transmitter/receiver. The order you boot may still affect it.

Thanks for the response. The HDMI signal does indeed work when plugged straight from the projector to the laptop. It defaults to 1920x1080 and works just fine.

Using the wireless receiver it defaults to 720x480 and shows the receiver looking for a connection. It's when a connection is established when it loops through the handshake.

I've tried booting the receiver first, then the projector, also vice versa but no luck. I also could not find a way to change the resolution on the projector
