I dropped my Iphone 5s in about 1 foot of water. I fished it out immediately, removed the case, powered down, and have had it sitting in rice for about 10 hours.

I've just checked the LCI indicator and it is white. Is it safe to power on? I'm not sure it has been off long enough to really be sure, and the case would have prevented water from getting near the SIM tray. I want my phone back, but I do not want to fry it because of my own impatience.

Hi,

If the LCI color is white it should be fine. That only means your iphone is not in contact with any liquid substance containing water. However, this may not 100% guarantee that it is safe. It is always at your own discretion at this point if you feel that it is safe to turn on. If you're sure that your iphone have dried enough, vacuum all crevice, have your fingers crossed. You might as well contact apple store to have it looked at.

Hope this helps. Thanks
