What and when was the first commercially produced CED?
What and when was the first commercially produced LD?
What and when was the last commercially produced CED?
What and when was the last commercially produced LD? (might be unknown for
now!)

I've read about the 'last' CED plant which had to be brought out of
retirement for a particular movie release .. are there still plants
capable of producing LDs? There are some audio vinyl plants that have
gained sort of a cult status world wide for producting very good quality
vinyl .. I wonder if LD might persist this way.. ?

I have read about this one: I have read that "Sleepy Hollow" was the last
North American release but there is information on internet that suggest the
last laserdisc was released in Japan sometime about 2001.

distribution beyond just as test discs. And there were a couple of
"black box" Discovision titles for limited release. The first
commercial release for national distribution was "Jaws," Discovision
12-001.

The last American laserdiscs were Sleepy Hollow and Bringing Out the
Dead, both released in 2000. The final Japanese laserdiscs were The
Cell, The Sixth Day, Tokyo Raiders (no English subtitles), and The
Crimson Rivers (no English subtitles), all released in late 2001.

The last CED was Disney's Pinnochio. RCA actually fired up a plant in
Indianapolis just to crank this last title out.
