I'm looking at either of these laptops for gaming, the lenevo that I'm looking at is
Intel Core i7-3630QM 2.3 GHz (6 MB Cache)
6 GB DIMM
750 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
15.6-Inch Screen, NVIDIA GeForce GTX660M (2gbs of ddr3 ram)
Windows 8, 6-hour battery life
Max Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels

The price of this one is 870, about 940 after tax.

Or

Acer Aspire V3-771G-6851 Notebook
Intel Core i5 3210M(2.50GHz)
17.3"
6GB Memory
750GB HDD 5400rpm
DVD Super Multi
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 2gbs DDR3 vram

This one cost 650, after tax and shipping.

Now I understand that I am downgrading the GPU but it does cost 290 less, but it also does have a higher screen resolution and a bigger screen.
I've also read that lenevo has terrible customer service with their products.

So, which one would you reccomend? If none of these good or if you have a better one in mind around the same price range please post!

Thanks in Advance.

I have the MSI equivalent of the Acer and I must say, quality wise it is much better than the V3. So if you are considering the V3, you may wanna have a look at MSI CX61 which has identical hardware (slightly more powerful GPU) but a superior build quality.

Still, the Y580 is an awesome laptop, but for that price you may wanna get the FHD version. It may cost a bit more but it's definitely worth it.

Just wondering what you diced to go with??

That MSI looks interesting... $50 less than the V3 I was looking at with I believe a larger HD and a slightly better graphics card.. and black rather than silver :)

I bought the Acer V3 (same spec as this thread) on Wednesday, it was delivered Thursday, and it's going back today because it was DOA - not impressed and can only reccommend looking at the alternatives

I would recomend the top one for gaming but value for money the bottom one, it i could give you advice than build it yourself, would come much cheaper and if you still want to spend same ammount of money you will get much better specs for it :) respectively if your scared why dont you go to pcspecialists.com and build one yourself, custom manufacturers like this have very cheap prices, regardless Rob.
