Lenovo G50 taking itself out of conservation mode

Hello. I've been using this G50 notebook for about six months. It's an so-so machine, but usually meets my needs. I have always kept the Energy Manager set to Conservation Mode, and I rarely use the notebook on just battery. In the last couple of weeks, I keep seeing the battery charged to 100%. When I check the Energy Manager, I find the conservation mode turned off. I turn it back on. A couple days later, I see the battery at 100%, and the energy manager has the conservation mode switched off again. No new software aside from the Python development software.

If anyone has a suggestion as to what is happening, I would appreciate hearing from you. In the meanwhile, I have a reminder in my calendar to check daily and reset the switch as needed. Thank you.
