Lenovo ideapad 305 wont turn on

The laptop has windows 8 (if it means anything) and it just froze for a while. i left it over night and to find out that it restarted it self. Everytime I turn it on and off. It keeps telling me that it needs repairs and to press F8. Pressing it doesnt do anything and I cant do anything about it

Does it shut off or reboot because it can't load Windows? Try booting off a Windows disk and do a Repair setup.

It may be caused by a bad hard-drive, bad RAM can cause this also. See if there is a hardware test in the BIOS options, run those and see what it shows. You can also create a bootable disk like Hirens or Ultimate Boot CD to run the drive tests off.
