I bought a lenovo ideapad y510p (stupidly without sli), and I would like to put a external GPU on it. Will this work, if so how could I do it. I know that I can use something like this http/www.hwtools.net/Adapter/PE4H.html I just don't know if my pc can handle it, ect .

There are a few issues with trying that, the most glaring is that the adapter is for test purposes only and will likely not perform in a manner you are expecting (can't be used for gaming). Other issues are the interface to the card. You do have the UltraBay that should be capable of SLI (the graphics must be the same model number as the existing card).
Does your laptop have the GT755 or...?

I have a 755m (single), but I want something faster; also I don't have a big wallet. What are my options?

I'd say SLI through the Ultrabay but it seems the GT755m isn't available through Lenovo anymore (from what I've read it never really was) and the few I find, when they do show up, aren't cheap, for example: http/www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Ultrabay-Removable-Graphics-IdeaPad/dp/B00IFWBOZK/ref=pd_sxp_f_r

So can I game on this? Also I don't have the money yet, so cant I buy it straight away. I am just thinking(for the future) for when this laptop can't play game anymore.

According to the video, yes you can game using that. There will likely be other solutions by the time you're ready to buy (or maybe there'll be an influx of Ultrabay GT755M's). These articles give me hope for that in an easier type solution

Unfortunately they are very proprietary at the moment but possibly the idea will catch on

Perfect, thank you so much. The only problem is the I dont know if the website is trust worthy. Also I looked at the Alienware graphics amplifier, that's what started my intrestin external GPUs.
