Question Lenovo Laptop Idea pad 100 - Sound Problem

Good day

I run an IT Company , A client recently complained his laptop got a power surge , upon examination I disconnected the battery and rested everything , it started again but this time with out any sound , I put in the ear phones but then the sound works through the ear phones and the microphone does not work properly, What could be done to sort this issue out or has the the power surge shorted something with the sound? I have orderded the client a USB headset for Skype and Zoom meetings as he does not want to replace the laptop. The sound does work through the dual phone jack but then has trouble with the MIc , I can hear myself and the other side but they can't hear me.


Any suggestions?

Sounds like something got disconnected when you worked on the battery, it's internal. Of course without knowing if the sound worked before you opened it there is really no way to know for sure.

Actually no I just disconnected the battery terminal that is all the rest stayed intact when the laptop lights were flickering and then once the battery got disconnected the laptop started normally hence without the internal speakers working. I did get a headset for the client .
