Lenovo B50 is only a few months old. Went to turn it on the other day, power light came on, "Lenovo" was displaced on the monitor, you had the little loading swirl going under this and then nothing! Just a blank screen and the cursor, nothing else, no Windows, nada. Please help, this has all our accounting information on it.

Solution
rather silly not to back up your accounting data

try to boot it into safe mode--though with windows 8,8.1 and 10 this isnt always easy due to fast boot and uefi bioses

turn on keep pressing f8

or turn on press shift + f8

failing that could just take the hard drive out and read it in a usb enclosure or connected to pc as second drive
1) If it's new it should be in warranty; have you contacted Lenovo or your vendor?
2) What version of Windows are you running?
3) If the accounting data is sufficiently important, you might consider getting the data recovered from the drive before trying to repair your OS. Writing to the drive increases the chance of messing up your data.

Thank you that worked and yes I know how stupid that is not to back up. Life's a bitch ain't it, the one time you're like, I'll do it later, it won't start. Thank you again :D
