Hi

My Lenovo Thinkbook 13s-IML has a bios problem.

1. Bios settings cannot be stored
2. The system does not boot into any OS anymore; not from USB, nor from ssd

When saving the bios settings, it give 4 errors:

Formset (Configuration) AB72D350-82B0-402A-84C8-164BB7DEB828 Failed to save storage: Setup. Status: Write Protected
Formset (Configuration) AB72D350-82B0-402A-84C8-164BB7DEB828 Failed to save storage: CpuSetup. Status: Write Protected
Formset (Configuration) AB72D350-82B0-402A-84C8-164BB7DEB828 Failed to save storage: PchSetup. Status: Write Protected
Formset (Configuration) AB72D350-82B0-402A-84C8-164BB7DEB828 Failed to save storage: SaSetup. Status: Write Protected

To try solving it, I disconnected the laptop battery and hold the power key for a while. This reset the date and time.
The error stays.

From the bios menu I tried resetting to factory defaults and disabling secure boot. This also does not work since the new settings cannot be saved.

What can I do to fix the save bios settings issue?

Boot menu that appears on boot. It does not boot into any option.

After playing around with bios settings, the issue was resolved.
Let me share what I did for others that come across this error.

I did the following, and my guess is that Bios Back Flash solved it.

1.
Exit / Load Default Settings
Exit / Exit saving changes
Errors still existed

2.
I changed the following settings.
Configuration / Bios Back Flash -> Enabled
Boot / Boot Mode -> Legacy Support
Boot / USB Boot -> Legacy first
Exit / OS optimized Default -> Disable
Exit / Exit saving changes
No errors followed
System boots again
