Lenovo Y50 (59426157) Gaming Laptop Intel Core i7 4700HQ (2.40GHz) 16GB Memory 1TB HDD 8GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M 2GB 15.6" Windows 8.1 64-Bit.

Using Lenovo Settings program, I can create a wifi hotspot. It works -- kind of.

On any device which uses wifi, it will work for about 15 minutes before disconnecting. The only way to reconnect is to turn wifi off on the device (ie iPhone) and back on.

Any way to prevent this strange disconnect? Note, I don't have to turn the wifi off on my laptop.

Not going to reinstall Windows 10 or anything.

Solution
Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in resolving that issue.
- Uninstall/reinstall the Network card drivers. (Wireless and Wired)
- Go to Device Manager look for Network adapters, right click the drivers and select Uninstall.
- Reboot the laptop once both drivers has been uninstalled and it should reinstall the driver automatically upon reboot.
- After it restarted do create another wifi hotspot and test if it would still disconnect.

You can also try to install this app from Microsoft Apps store.
