I'm planning on buying the lenovo y50 1080p model with 16gb ram, 1tb+8gb sshd and the 2GB GTX 860M. I just wanna make sure that the screen is not locked at 48hz like the UHD model. Is the screen 60hz?

Solution
hello there i have done some light digging and havent found anywhere that says its locked at 48hz or that the 1080p model is 60hz is there a certain reason you want that laptop? because i have heard nothing but complaints about how the screen sucks and its bland colors are horrible i dont know how much your willing to spend but i would spend my money on a new laptop with a crap screen straight out of the box hope this helps

It is 60hz. Which model are you planning to buy(TN or IPS)? BTW, new y50 models (gtx 960m, ips) are expected to go on sale by next month and is expected to be priced around the same as the current Y50 models.

All of the above is true only for 15.6" FHD LED AntiGlare screens(which is not that bad). IPS models are super fine. I've done screen replacement for my y50.
