Hey guys! I'm heading off to college and looking to buy a gaming laptop. Thus far I've narrowed my search down to the Lenovo Y500 and Y580. What do you think? Most of the games I play are graphics intensive, so I want gameplay to be fluid and nice to the eyes. But I also do a bit of photography/video editing on the side plus digital art. Bearing this in mind I need a laptop that can do work. Are either of these the right choice? Perhaps one more so than the other? What really differentiates the Y500 from the Y580?

Thoughts? :)

Get the Y500 for 10-20% faster graphics (GT650m) if the appplication supports SLI. I have not seen any benchmarks for the newer GT750m.

Get the Y580 for 2+ additional hours of battery life. Because it can use the HD4000 GPU on the CPU instead of the GTX660 to save power.

The Y500 with just 1 GPU will only have ~3 hours battery life, with 2 GPU SLI gaming 1.5 hours.
The Y500 has a ultrabay that can take a 2nd GPU, HDD, fan or DVD-RW.

The Y580 does not have the Ultrabay.
