Here are the laptop specifications:

Lenovo Y510p:
Intel Core i7 4700MQ (2.4 GHz to 3.4 GHz)
(Single)Nvidia GT 755M 2 GB DDR5
1920 x 1080 display
8 GB DDR3 at 1600 MHz
1 TB HDD at 5400 RPM

This is not the SLI model which is available in USA

Lenovo Z510:
Intel Core i7 4702MQ (2.2 GHz to 3.2 GHz)
Nvidia GT 740M 2 GB DDR3
1366 x 768 display
8 GB DDR3 at 1600 MHz
1 TB HDD at 5400 RPM

I am aware that Z510 is weaker when compared to Y510p , owing to its 740M(DDR3) graphic card. But GT 755M(GDDR5) though more powerful and faster has to push more pixels (1920x1080) compared to 1366x768 pixels in Z510.

But GT 740M in Z510 is quiet slower compared to GT755M in Y510p because of GDDR5 memory in 755M.

So which laptop will perform well in demanding games like Crysis 3, BF4 on medium to high settings? Which laptop will give more FPS at same graphic settings?

Solution
I would simply by the Y510p and lower the resolution when playing games to improve performance.

Assuming you are using the Max resolution of the screen, then the Z510 provides better performance because 1080p really stresses the graphics chip. If playing games at 1366x768 on both laptops, then the Y510p will provide better performance.

Thank you so much jaguarskx. But will running games in 1366x768 res or 1600x900 res on 1080p screen look as good as running 1366x768 res on 1366x768 screen ?:??:

There is a slight loss in sharpness, but it should not be very bad at all. I tested Star Trek Online on my uncle's Dell Latitude 3540 (which he gave me to fix some issues while he's on extended vacation) since the game does not write anything to the Registry, I simply copied the directory from my Lenovo Y470 to the Dell and fired up the game. The Y470 has a 1366x768 screen and the Dell has a 1920x1080 resolution screen, but I set the game to 1366x768 resolution.

The loss in quality was not much, it's kinda similar to playing PS3 and Xbox 360 games on a HDTV. Those games are rendered at 720p and then stretched to fill a 1080p screen.

I suppose if you have a friend or family member with laptop that has a 1600x900 or 1920x1080 resolution screen you can see for yourself if the loss in quality is very bad when playing games at 1366x768.
