Hey

I've been thinking about buying the Nikon D5500, but i already own a lens, and before i go and buy anything, i just wanted to make sure, that i am not wasting my money on a new lense, if these are compatible

The lens i have is the Sony 4.5-5.6/75-300 N50 lens

Thanks

You could go down the adapter route (though bear in mind many of them don't support all the host camera's features & modes so there will be some compromises) but since you've got only one Sony lens I wouldn't bother trying to make use of it, it wouldn't do a Nikon camera justice for one thing.

Buy Nikon lenses for your new camera - start off as you mean to go on with a new system.

Whether you buy Nikon or third-party Nikon-mount lenses (much cheaper but lower quality glass) is up to you.
That's the real decision you need to be making.

Would getting the Sony A6300 maybe be a better option than the D5500. I'm just getting into photography, and want to take pictures mainly when i'm travelling?
