LG 29UB55-B vs LG 29UM67P

So im looking for a new monitor for my birthday and have noticed only a £20 difference between these monitors... it looks great but what is the best? Ive heard good things about both monitors and is it worth spending £20 more for the LG 29UM67P? I mean aside from the dual hdmi i dont notice much else aside from slightly different stands, thanks

Is the 29um67p better due to the slightly higher price point or would you reccomend me towarrds the 29ub55-b
(i dont care about rotating the screen)

Also how much is optimised due to the ultrawide i mean we are far into 2016 by now i assume most games and movies support it Thanks

EDIT: hey aslso is that a 50% off sale or is newegg just comparing the "You save 50% to other sites" because if its a temporary sale let me now Also i dont think the cheap one has freesync

It's a Newegg sale.

The main differences are that the more expensive one is capable of slightly higher brightness and that it supports AMD Freesync (which is a VERY good thing to have if you have an AMD card).

ill be getting this in the summer to go with my homebuilt pc and ill most likley use nvidia... is the 29um67p still good for me? Does freesync work without an amd card? I might get an amd card but i am unsure for now It depends on what techsource reccomends as a summer build

No, Freesync requires an AMD card to function. But I'd still get the second monitor if only just for the better stand.

AMD will be releasing their new Polaris lineup in June and their Vega lineup (which will be their new high-end cards) in October.

Please do yourself a favor and ask here for a build when you have the money. Tech websites and channels often "recommend" a build that is based a little too much on opinion and too little on hard facts. People here on the other hand spend a good bit of their time researching components to help people put together builds ranging from 500$ to multi-thousand dollar builds. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but we (people on the T.H. forum) are often simply better at it than people who'll put together maybe one or two builds a month and spend the rest of their time doing reviews.
