LG 49uj6500 cursor issue

I have a lg49uj6500, everything was working fine except the magic remote. The cursor was slow and cumbersome. I bought a usb wireless keyboard and mouse but didn't like it so I removed it. Now I cant get the cursor from the remote to show up.
The remote works fine other than the cursor issue.

Try giving the remote a shake, this wakes up the cursor. You may need to reset and re-pair the remote if you have no luck. Do this: Press SMART or HOME button with PREVIOUS button at the same time for 5sec. Hold the remote control heading toward TV and press OK(wheel).
