LG LCD TV what's causing vertical lines? Lots of details provided.

Hi. I have an LG 32LG70 LCD TV with a vertical line on the right side of the screen. It's actually a bunch of colored lines right next to each other so from a distance it looks like one line about an inch wide. Here's an image:

It is always there, on all inputs, and it blocks everything including menus. If I twist the TV the line changes slightly but always stays in the same spot. I disconnected the ribbon cable that I think goes to the T-con board. Here's an image of the tcon:

The screen went white when the ribbon cable was disconnected but I could still (faintly) see the line. I did not disconnect anything else. What do you think is causing this?

Since the lines are there on all inputs and overlapping the menus, I'm leaning toward a damaged display panel. Has the TV been dropped or bumped recently?

I don't know if it was dropped or what happened. I found it on the curb and thought I'd take a crack at fixing it.
