LG R310-K Graphics Card Replaceable?

I got a pretty old LG R310-K laptop that I want to put into use again, but its graphics card is broken. It turns on, but there is nothing on screen.

This is the graphics card (http/www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-3470.9594.0.html).

I was wondering if I could replace it if I buy a new one of that graphics card. I couldn't find anywhere if the graphics card inside the laptop is replaceable or not.

Most laptops GPUs can't be replaced, and it doesn't look like yours is an exception, so I think you are out of luck.

What is the reason behind it, and I can still replace the whole motherboard though, right?

Most laptop GPUs are embedded in the motherboard, so yeah, you need to replace the whole motherboard if you want to fix it.
