Sir, the bars appear when you're playing videos that aren't par with the TV aspect ratio. For example, there are movies which are produced with 1.89:1 or 2.35:1. The latters is considered ultra widescreen. Then you have 16:9 (1.78:1). The black bard will always appear as soon as the ratio is not the same between movie/tv.
