LG425000 TV Problem

My LG 42" Plasma TV 5000 of about 9-10 years has stopped working. At first it was temperamental and the power light would flash red a few times and nothing would happen. Other times it has worked fine. It now only flashes when turned on. I have removed the back casing and looked at the main board but cannot see any damage to the capacitors. There is however a faint crackling noise coming from the board. Any ideas of how to resolve would be much appreciated.

For a 10 year old plasma I would not bother with a repair. Very likely any parts you need and/or cost to have someone fix it would end up being as much or more than a new 42" TV or a working used one.

You can find good working 42" size or so TVs for under $200 used.
