Logitech s120 stereo speakers issue

just bought these logitech s120 stereo speakers today at target. I came home and plugged it into the back of the computer and all I get out of the speakers is static.

Either they are bad or you have them plugged into the wrong port or you have some volume level too low. Check to make sure you have it in the right port, check the audio volume settings, read the manual. Is anything else plugged into the system like headphones?

I have it plugged into the green 3.5mm port on the back of the pc. The only other thing i have plugged into it that would give sound is the hdmi cable going to my second monitor
