Logitech Z-5500 Price

Hi. I just looked at amazon.com and the speakers are like 170 after rebate and shipping. Why did the price go down so fast? Does any know why? Thank you. I wanted to know this because if this is a once in a lifetime deal then I'm going to get it but if some new speakers are hitting the market, i would wait.

It's entirely up to the reseller to set the price.

Supply and demand; how much they have and have to sell, and what price they need to sell it at to make an acceptable margin.

As far as a replacement for the Z-5500s, it's in the perfect price class for gamers which is why the design for the satellites are a simply 1-way micro satellite. All of Logitech's higher offerings are 2-way speakers advertised for ipod playback, and in turn cost more.

All the 5.1 systems on the market are ancient as hell. There's just not that much you can cram into a set with 5 speakers and a sub at a $200 street price.
