Logitech z3 issue

Hi, my Logitech z3 speakers have stopped working after i pulled the headphones from the headphone jack of the controller. The sound is still coming out through headphones if I plug them in to the controller but nothing through speakers once i take them out. I've tried these speakers on several different devices and got same results so it can't be software issue but rather hardware. If anyone's familiar with this problem I'd appreciate some help in trying to fix them.

should be a defective headphone jack (shortened contact) or similar -> hardware related.
