Logitech Z506 Sub woofer only works for about 10 seconds

I recently bought a Logitech Z506 surround sound set for $25 used. The speakers work fine but the sub woofer only works for about ten seconds. Whenever I turn the speakers on it works and then it just cuts off. Music still plays out of the speakers fine but I would like to know why my Sub woofer doesn't work.

i'd check the center/sub jack, cable and port for a bad connection though it could be an internal problem as well... only testing can let you know for sure.
