I recently got a Logitech Z5500 home theater and they work great except the rear speakers don't work at all. I know it's not the speakers themselves as I've swapped them around to the other ports and they worked beautifully. The center speaker, front speakers and sub all work great too, just not the rear channel.

I have an Asus M5A97 R20 motherboard which uses a Realtek for it's sound board/chipset. I am also running my computer on Windows 7 Ultimate. I have tried to get the rear speakers to work both with 5.1 analog cables and with an optical SPDIF cable. In both cases I can get the front, the center and the sub to work, but not the back.

I have tested it using the following settings within the controller:
Direct 6 channel.
Optical.
Stereo.
Stereo X 2.
Movies.
Music.

In all cases, the rear speakers still don't work and I DON'T know why.

Any clues as to what the problem is and how how to fix it?
