4. Preferred Brand(s): Brand which provide OS update the most.

5. How much do you want to spend on your tablet? $300-$600

7. Do you have cellular service? Or do you want the tablet to be WiFi only? WiFi is enough.

9. Do you want the tablet to be a full laptop replacement? Nope.

10. What do you intend to do with this tablet? Mainly for reading.

I have in mind iPad Air 16Gb Wi-fi but I think it's too expensive. The important thing is that the tablet is not laggy.

Have you looked at the Nexus 10? It would probably get updates the fastest. I think the nexus 5 and nexus 7 were some of the first devices to get kitkat.
