4k tvs is a different case. Finding one that isn't smart from a major brand (Sony, Samsung, LG) is actually kinda hard. If you're okay with Chinese brands, Seiki has some decent panels at 4k res with good prices.

If you don't want them, why not just ignore them? I bought my 4k TV just for gaming purposes, I hardly ever use any of it's smart features, the only thing I do is use the Netflix button, I have never even watched a single TV show on my TV.

To be honest, I would wait this out for a couple more years. Unless money is no object to you or you must have the latest gadgets, then go for it. 4K is still nascent and they are still working out the kinks. Furthermore, there is hardly any 4k content out right now. Prices are dropping rapidly. So if you wait, you'll get a better TV for less. For the time being. Make sure your current TV is properly calibrated, if it is not, then you have been missing out.
