Looking For A Decent Rig, Alienware Seems Promising, But Alpha Or Traditional Desktop

Okay it may not be laptop specific but i did not see a desktop category. I'm looking for a decent Gaming Rig that would be portable and not too expensive. So of course i must ask about the Alienware Alpha, sitting at Wal-Mart with a nice $559.00 price tag. Obviously its not some PC master race ultimate gaming rig, but it seems powerful enough and the compact design and console-style layout begs the question- How portable is it compared to, say a traditional gaming desktop such as a DigitalStorm Vanquish? And is it, overall, worth the $560? And please don't say "just build a custom pc" I get that enough, if i could afford to have someone build a custom pc or had the time to build one myself, i wouldn't be looking at a PC-Console Hybrid in the first place. Thank you.

Anything from simple games like FTL: Faster Than Light and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, to more complex things like GTA V, Arma III and the like, granted im not looking for something to run GTA on ultra. 60-120 frames at low-medium graphics will do just fine. Im wanting to get into the modding scene for GTA V and i run a YouTube Channel so i need something powerful enough to record gameplay.
*Sorry if i seem like im being very vague, im in school at the moment, and i'm going to walmart afterwards and wanted to know if its worth it.

Not to sound like an ass, but if your modding GTA 5 and recording at the same time. i think you/people who watch you channel will be thoroughly disappointed at the results using the pre made console/pc systems.

"Not to sound like an ass, but if your modding GTA 5 and recording at the same time. i think you/people who watch you channel will be thoroughly disappointed at the results using the pre made console/pc systems." I understand but as i said i have neither the money to pay for a custom pc, or the time to build one myself. I just need something reliable for lower-demand games for the channel, and a bit more demanding games just to play for myself.

Well, the GPU is a modified GTX 860M (Note: Mobile GPU). A standard 860M can run GTA V at about 30 fps on High settings at 1080p (source: http://www.notebookcheck.net/GTA-V-Benchmarked.140881.0.html ). Do you consider that acceptable? Also keep in mind that since it's a mobile GPU, it's unlikely that you'd be able to upgrade it in the future.

EDIT: You're probably looking at the i3 model, in which case your only viable recording option is going to be Shadowplay. If you want to use other recording software you'll probably need to move up to an i5, or preferably, the i7.
